A Wellcare Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) delivers extra benefits at no extra cost.

A Wellcare D-SNP is a special type of Medicare Advantage plan. These plans provide additional support and benefits at no extra cost for people who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid coverage.

We also offer Exclusively Aligned Enrollment (EAE)/Applicable Integrated Plans (AIP) for people who are dual eligible. An EAE/AIP D-SNP lets you fully combine your Medicare and Medicaid into one, easy-to-use plan. This means, one phone number to call, one Member ID card, more benefits, and less hassle.

If you're eligible for these plans, or if you have low income, you may also be eligible for the EXTRA HELP program, which provides cost support for prescription drugs.

Am I eligible to enroll in a Wellcare D-SNP?

To apply for a Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan, you need to meet the federal government’s requirements for Medicare eligibility, and your state’s specific requirements for Medicaid eligibility.

The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period starts in October. However, you may be able to enroll sooner if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.
